Governor Presents ‘Nari Shakti 2024’ Awards — A Call for Women’s Empowerment Efforts at All Levels

Jaipur : Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde emphasized that societies progressing rapidly are those that actively work toward women’s empowerment. He highlighted that a mother, as the embodiment of feminine power, imparts values and courage to her children, strengthening their intellectual capabilities. He urged women to remain mentally strong and fearless, acknowledging the vital role they play in nurturing the nation.

Governor Bagde was speaking at the ‘Nari Shakti 2024’ award ceremony organized by ‘Mahila Suraksha Manch’ at a private hotel on Monday. He presented the ‘Nari Shakti 2024’ awards to women who have made significant contributions in fields such as environmental protection, entrepreneurship, law, medicine, and economics, encouraging others to draw inspiration from their achievements.

He noted that women in Indian culture are revered as goddesses, embodying strength and resilience. The tradition of Kanya Pujan has been a longstanding part of Sanatan Sanskriti, and festivals like Navratri are dedicated to the worship of Shakti (divine feminine energy). The Governor praised the efforts of women in preserving Indian cultural values through such traditions.

Governor Bagde lauded the passing of the Women’s Reservation Bill by the central government as a historic step towards advancing women’s rights. He acknowledged the ongoing efforts under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership to empower women across the country, including initiatives like ‘Har Ghar Jal’ in Rajasthan’s remote areas and the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship through programs like ‘Lakhpati Didi.’ He called for collective action at all levels to empower women and provide them with opportunities.

Jaipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Mrs. Soumya Gurjar also emphasized the importance of collective efforts for women’s empowerment. The event began with a welcome address by Mrs. Babita Sharma of ‘Mahila Suraksha Manch.’
