Strict Action for Non-Compliance with Election Responsibility Orders – District Collector Dr. Bipin Itankar
Criminal Charges Filed Against Employee for Breach of Duty Related to Elections
Nagpur : The work for the Assembly elections has been expedited, and in the initial phase, facilities for postal voting are being provided to senior citizens aged 85 and above, as well as differently-abled voters, to ensure they can exercise their voting rights. A written complaint has been filed against polling station-level officer and assistant teacher Jayprakash Hedaau for failing to perform his official duties. Based on this complaint, a case has been filed against him at the Savner police station under the Representation of the People Act.
Savner’s election officer, Dr. Ravindra Holi, filed the complaint at the Savner police station. Assistant teacher Jayprakash Jagaramji Hedaau was appointed as the polling station-level officer for Ward No. 135 at Subhash Primary School, Savner. When the local patwari and supervisor requested him to fill out Form 12-D, Hedaau outright refused to carry out the task and declined to take orders, displaying rude and inappropriate behavior. This led to the filing of the complaint.
Despite repeated instructions to comply with election-related orders, he neglected his duties. Sub-divisional officer Sampat Khalate intervened to address the issue. Khalate noted that, despite being given a reasonable opportunity, Hedaau ignored the situation.
Dr. Bipin Itankar, the district collector, emphasized that non-compliance with election responsibility orders will result in strict action. The responsibilities entrusted by the election department are part of national duty. Additionally, no government employee should participate in political campaigning. Explicit orders have been issued by the election department regarding this. The collector warned that any attempt to evade responsibility by canceling orders will lead to unavoidable action as per the rules.
