The “आओ चलें महाकुंभ” stickers will adorn roadway buses, with Maha Kumbh-themed vinyl wrapping displayed on the rear of the vehicles
Prayagraj : Preparations are in full swing for the Maha Kumbh, scheduled to take place in January 2025 along the banks of the Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, all departments of the Kumbh Mela administration are working together to create a divine, grand, clean, and green atmosphere for the event.
The Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Department is operating a large fleet of buses to facilitate the journey of devotees while also promoting the Yogi government’s commitment to making the Maha Kumbh an eco-friendly occasion. UP Roadways is enthusiastically participating in these promotional efforts.
MK Trivedi, the Regional Manager of UP Roadways in Prayagraj, stated that to communicate the government’s vision for the Kumbh, “आओ चलें महाकुंभ” stickers are being affixed to the roadways buses.
Additionally, posters, slogans, and scenes depicting the Kumbh Mela are being painted on the backs of the buses, transforming them into vibrant representations of the Maha Kumbh. This initiative aims to raise public awareness about the Maha Kumbh and highlight its significance.
CM Yogi has issued clear directives for Maha Kumbh 2025, emphasizing that it should be free of banned polythene. “Every ward and locality in Prayagraj must be kept clean, and Mohalla Swachhta Samitis should be established to facilitate this initiative”, the Chief Minister has directed officials.
Public awareness is essential, and everyone must contribute to ensuring that the entire Prayagraj area, including the fairgrounds, becomes a model of cleanliness. In line with the Chief Minister’s vision, UP Roadways has commenced efforts to support this initiative.
MK Trivedi, Regional Manager of UP Roadways in Prayagraj, said, “The department is preparing to offer direct bus services from Prayagraj to all 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh as well as neighbouring states during the Maha Kumbh. Buses traveling to these locations will actively promote the Maha Kumbh, featuring vinyl wraps on the exterior that display messages and imagery related to the event.”
Additionally, Trivedi mentioned that UP Roadways is advancing the government’s campaign for environmental protection. Polythene-free Maha Kumbh stickers are being placed on the Transport Department’s buses.
Furthermore, drivers and conductors have committed to making the polythene-free campaign a success, aiming to give Maha Kumbh global recognition. The conductors and staff are also encouraged to raise awareness among passengers during their journeys.
