Rapid Implementation of Healthcare Infrastructure and Initiatives is Essential for a Strong and Healthy Madhya Pradesh: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla stated that providing accessible and quality healthcare services is the top priority of the government. In line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, efforts are being made to continuously strengthen healthcare services and infrastructure for building a strong and self-reliant Madhya Pradesh. He emphasized that effective departmental coordination is necessary for the swift implementation of these initiatives. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla held an in-depth discussion with Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain at Vallabh Bhavan regarding various interdepartmental coordination issues.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla stressed the need for coordination with relevant departments to ensure prompt action on key issues of the Public Health and Medical Education Department. He said that respective department heads be instructed to expedite the required processes. Principal Secretary of Finance Shri Manish Rastogi and Principal Secretary of Public Health and Medical Education Shri Sandeep Yadav were also present.

Discussion on Pay Protection Proposal for Medical Colleges

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla directed for action and coordination on the approval of positions in 454 healthcare institutions and priority to the proposal for pay protection in medical colleges. The issue of restoring the earlier Paramedical Council Act was also discussed. Additionally, the proposal to allow the outsourcing of community centers and civil hospitals was deliberated upon, with the aim of strengthening healthcare services in rural areas through its swift implementation.

Emphasis on Increasing Age Limit for Assistant Professors (Medical Colleges) from 40 to 50 Years

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla emphasized the importance of increasing the age limit for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in medical colleges from 40 to 50 years and discussed the relevant proposal. The issue of approving positions in district hospitals in newly formed districts was also brought up. A special exemption for nursing recruitment at Jabalpur Medical College was among the key points discussed. Shri Shukla directed that the necessary actions be expedited for obtaining approval from the Project Screening Committee for the upgradation and construction of Rewa Medical College, Satna Medical College Hospital, and Indore’s M.Y. Hospital.

Discussion on Budget Provisions for Upgrading Healthcare Institutions and Developing Healthcare Infrastructure

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla also discussed the budget provisions for the financial year 2024-25. He stated that proposals for the upgradation of healthcare institutions and the development of healthcare infrastructure are pending for approval, and increasing the departmental index is necessary to address this. The proposal prepared by the Animal Husbandry Department for the approval of a cow sanctuary in Hinoti village of Rewa district was also discussed, with Shri Shukla urging swift action by the screening committee.

Additionally, following the announcement by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Higher Education Department recommended funds for the infrastructural development (building/bridge construction) and necessary land acquisition for the Rewa campus of Sandipani Sanskrit University in Ujjain. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla stressed the need for immediate action to ensure this project reaches the public soon.
