Police will have to be future-ready: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the need for the Madhya Pradesh Police to be future-ready in order to protect society from the growing threats of Artificial Intelligence misuse and cybercrime. He directed that cyber desks be set up in every police station, cyber police stations be established in each district, and state-level call centers be created using advanced information technology. Additionally, he called for intensive awareness campaigns to educate the public about cyber fraud and crime. Dr. Yadav stressed the importance of monitoring social media for activities and messages, urging immediate action against those spreading false or misleading information. He advised that any misleading news, along with law and order issues, should be reported to the relevant department for fact-checking so that accurate information can be swiftly shared on social media. These directives were issued by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav during a Home Department review meeting held at Mantralaya, attended by Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri S.N. Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Director General of Police Shri Sudhir Saxena, and other officials.
Strict action should be taken against cattle smugglers
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the necessity of intensive monitoring to dismantle drug networks. He instructed the police to take strict action against suspicious individuals by increasing patrolling in areas prone to drug-related activities, on a station-by-station basis. He also called for enhanced surveillance of suspicious hookah bars, nightclubs, and similar establishments. To curb drug trafficking, he advised launching a coordinated campaign with neighboring states to target inter-state gangs. Additionally, he stressed the importance of taking firm action against cattle smugglers. In the meeting, directives were issued to make special efforts to prevent crimes against women and promote women’s empowerment. Dr. Yadav underscored the need to ensure the harshest punishments for those convicted of sexually assaulting minors and called for a special campaign to recover missing girls.
Arrangements for awareness and investigation regarding new criminal code must
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that arrangements should be made for intensive training for awareness regarding the new criminal code at the field level. According to the new system, budget provision should be made at the departmental level to provide pen drives, tablets etc. to the police staff as per requirement for investigation of each case and presentation of challan. FSL lab should also be established in every division.
Naxal activities should completely stop by March 2026
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the meeting regarding anti-Naxal campaign chaired by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, it was decided to completely end Naxal activities by March 2026. To achieve this goal, intensive operations should be conducted in potentially Naxal areas of the state. For this, Hawk-Force should be recruited as per requirement within the stipulated time frame. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the police should coordinate with the forest department and exchange information in districts where activities of wild animals are likely to affect normal life or lead to loss of life.
Better working environment should be provided to police personnel and officers
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that a credible and efficient police system requires establishing trust in the police and ensuring a supportive working environment for police personnel and officers. He called for sensitive measures to improve the facilities available to police families. Dr. Yadav also stressed the need to simplify the processes for granting permissions and arranging loans for police personnel to construct their own homes. He advocated for timely promotions at all levels within the police structure and highlighted the importance of publicizing the police force’s achievements and effective actions.
Recruitment in place of retired police personnel should be ensured
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to submit the upcoming action plan regarding recruitment and supply of vehicles to ensure the availability of police force and vehicles etc. as per future requirements. He said that the system of recruitment should be ensured every year in the proportion in which police personnel are retiring. If more police force is required in proportion to the population of the state, then recruitment should be done accordingly. It is necessary to ensure that in the coming years, adequate strength of police personnel and various ranks is available and cadre management remains systematic in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to restart the state-level ‘Rustomji’ award to encourage policemen and officers for excellent work. Besides, ADG-level officers were also directed to regularly visit and review crimes at the divisional level.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the police band has a positive impact on the enthusiasm and skills of the police force. Former princely states and other administrative units have historically had a tradition of police bands. An action plan should be made to revive the cadre of police bands. He also gave instructions to establish a dedicated police station for the management of the Mahakal temple area in Ujjain.
