Minimum Support Price of wheat fixed at Rs 2425

The Government of India has declared the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of wheat for the year 2025-26 at Rs 2425. This is Rs 150 more than last year. Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput has urged the farmer brothers to sow wheat in as much area as possible and get a fair price for their produce with the increased MSP.

For the Rabi marketing year 2025-26, the department has now started preparations for wheat procurement from farmers at the support price. Under this, arrangements are being made for gunny bags for wheat procurement, storage, transportation. Also, mechanized cleaning arrangements will be made at the centres for wheat procurement of FAQ standards prescribed by the Government of India. Surveyors will be given intensive training for testing the quality of wheat.

It is noteworthy that last year 6 lakh 16 thousand farmers sold 48 lakh 38 thousand metric tonnes of wheat at the support price in the state. A total of 3694 procurement centres were established for wheat procurement as per the convenience of the farmers. 2199 procurement centres were established at the warehouse level for transportation, handling of the procured wheat and prompt payment to the farmers. The remaining 1495 procurement centres were established at the committee level. Arrangement was made for direct payment of support price amount in the Aadhar linked bank accounts of the farmers.
