Instill the values of energy conservation in children from an early age. : Shri Mangubhai Patel
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that saving energy is equivalent to generating it. He highlighted the importance of instilling values of energy conservation in children from an early age to help them understand future energy needs and its significance. Governor Patel made these remarks while addressing the prize distribution ceremony of the state-level painting competition on energy conservation. The event was held at Subhash Bhawan in Bhopal and was organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
Governor Shri Patel presented prizes to the participants of the state level painting competition organised in two categories. He also congratulated and wished the winning participants for being selected in the National Painting Competition. Shri Patel also honored the jury members of the competition on this occasion. He congratulated NHDC for continuously organising the competition for the awareness of energy conservation for the last 19 years.
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that the imagination and creativity of children is a unique gift of nature. The paintings made by children on energy saving and conservation are the expressions of their inner feelings. Governor Shri Patel appealed to the people present to definitely visit the painting exhibition and appreciate the expressions of the child artists. He told the children that while creating paintings for energy conservation, the true feelings of energy saving that came in your inner mind, always keep those feelings alive and try to follow them throughout life.
Governor Shri Patel said that energy resources are the invaluable gifts given to humans by nature. They should be used as per need and discretion. We all have to understand the importance of water conservation along with the sources of energy. Governor Shri Patel said that in the areas where there is not enough availability of electricity and water, think about the problems of the people there, and with a feeling of sympathy, use energy, water and other natural resources judiciously. He advised the children to develop good habits of saving.
Four mantras given to children- good exercise, nutritious diet, plenty of water and sleep
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel gave four mantras to children to become healthy, bright and energetic. He said that children should make it a habit to exercise regularly. Eat nutritious diet, avoid eating fast food. Drink plenty of water and have a good sleep.
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel inaugurated the award ceremony by lighting the lamp. Shri Patel was welcomed by presenting a sapling in the ceremony. He was felicitated by presenting a shawl and a memento. NHDC Managing Director Shri Rajiv Jain gave the welcome address. He gave detailed information about the organisation of the state level competition. Chief General Manager Human Resources Shri Ashok Kumar expressed his gratitude. NHDC officials, jury members, children participating in the painting competition and their parents were present in the programme.
