Lucknow University hosts mass oath ceremony for women’s safety

Lucknow : Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the women of Uttar Pradesh are experiencing a profound sense of empowerment and safety today. The state government’s initiatives under Mission Shakti have played a significant role in women empowerment.

The state government has prioritized women’s safety, respect, and empowerment, with multiple initiatives underway to create a more secure environment for women.

Recently, as part of the fifth phase of Mission Shakti, a mass oath-taking ceremony was held at Lucknow University. The event highlighted the significant progress made by the campaign, with speakers lauding Mission Shakti as a powerful tool in fostering a positive and safe atmosphere for women across the state.

Many praised CM Yogi Adityanath for his leadership in ensuring that such programs not only raise awareness but also bring about societal change. They credited the CM’s vision and initiatives, noting that the program has strengthened women’s sense of empowerment and safety.

During the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Alok Rai led everyone in a pledge, committing that every member of the university will work towards creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for women.

Key points of the pledge included the promise not to remain silent or passive in cases of harassment or abuse, but to speak up and intervene. It was also emphasized that full support would be given to any woman facing such issues, encouraging others to do the same.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor stated that this pledge is not just a formality but a strong step towards bringing positive change in society. He stressed that everyone’s active participation is essential for ensuring women’s safety and dignity and urged that these values be reflected in our actions and daily lives.

Dr. Manini Srivastava highlighted the goals and achievements of the Mission Shakti program on this occasion. She explained that the campaign, led by the Yogi Adityanath government, aims to eliminate any form of violence and harassment against women.

Students at the event also shared their thoughts, expressing that under CM Yogi’s leadership, Mission Shakti is an innovative step toward women’s empowerment and safety.

The event was chaired by Alok Rai, Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University, with Dr. Manini Srivastava, Mission Shakti’s nodal officer at the university, coordinating. The program saw active participation from Vice-Chancellor Professor Manuka Khanna, along with deans, department heads, faculty, staff, and a large number of students, demonstrating strong support for this initiative.
