Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. StalinA visit to Ariyalur – Perambalur Districts!

Since assuming office, Honourable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M.K. Stalin has launched numerous welfare schemes such as the Magalir Vidiyal Housing Scheme, Kalaignar Women’s Rights Scheme, Pudhumai Penn Scheme (offering ₹1,000 per month for girl students completing school and pursuing college), Tamil Nadu Student Scheme (providing ₹1,000 monthly for college students), Naan Mudhalvan Initiative (enhancing employment opportunities for youth), Makkaludan Mudhalvar Programme (addressing long-pending issues directly), and the Ungal Nalama Scheme (ensuring the efficient delivery of government benefits). These initiatives have been implemented under the Dravidian Model Government to uphold people’s welfare and trust.

The Chief Minister personally undertakes field inspections to review these schemes’ progress. As part of this, the Chief Minister announced his intention to visit all districts in Tamil Nadu by November to assess developments and initiatives directly.

In continuation, on November 5 and 6, he visited Madurai District, followed by Virudhunagar District on November 9 and 10. The visits witnessed overwhelming public participation and appreciation for the Chief Minister’s initiatives.

The next phase of this initiative saw the Honourable Chief Minister visiting Ariyalur – Perambalur Districts on November 15, 2024, to implement significant welfare measures and schemes that were celebrated with great enthusiasm by the people.


Foundation Ceremony for a New Footwear Manufacturing Unit in Peyanpazham
In Ariyalur District’s Peyanpazham, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a new footwear manufacturing unit within the SIPCOT industrial park, involving an investment of ₹1,000 crore. This project is set to provide 15,000 employment opportunities, enhancing the livelihoods of local communities and boosting the region’s economy.

Furthermore, free residential plots on 3.52 acres were allocated to economically disadvantaged families. Under the Dravidian Model Government, Peyanpazham has witnessed improved public healthcare services, with the district hospital upgraded at a cost of ₹29 crores.

Additionally, lands acquired for the Neyveli Lignite Corporation in 2005, spanning 8,373 acres, have been handed back to the villagers after being unused for years. These measures, implemented during the Chief Minister’s one-day visit, have significantly benefited Ariyalur District.


Launch of the Second Phase of the Nutritional Security Scheme
On May 21, 2022, the Honourable Chief Minister launched the Nutritional Security Scheme in the Nilgiris District, targeting newborns and lactating mothers with nutritional kits distributed to homes. The scheme saw 77.3% of infants regaining normal health levels.

Building on its success, the second phase of the Nutritional Security Scheme was inaugurated in the Varanavasi Anganwadi Centre, Thirumanur Union, Ariyalur District. The scheme, worth ₹22 crores, provides nutritional kits to 76,705 identified mothers of malnourished children,
