Principal Secretary Mines Engages in Direct Dialogue with Stakeholders—Emphasizes Zero Loss Mining
First-ever Investment Proposals Worth Over ₹1.41 Lakh Crore in the Mining Sector
Jaipur : Principal Secretary of Mines and Petroleum, Shri T. Ravikant, highlighted the necessity of adopting advanced technology to achieve zero-loss mining in the state. He stated that the state’s new mineral policy incorporates practical suggestions from mining stakeholders to accelerate growth in the mining sector, leveraging modern technology, increasing investment, employment, and revenue. He noted that this is the first time the mining sector has witnessed investment proposals exceeding ₹1.41 lakh crore.
On Friday, Shri Ravikant engaged in direct dialogue with mining leaseholders, mining associations, crusher associations, and representatives of cement companies in Jodhpur. He emphasized that Jodhpur division holds a unique and distinguished identity in Rajasthan’s mining sector. He called for adherence to modern technologies and safety standards, ensuring zero loss and quality-based maximum production while mining these invaluable resources.
During discussions, he assured stakeholders of positive decisions on their suggestions based on merit. He also highlighted the state government’s aim to make the mining sector a leading industry in the country. Rajasthan now leads in the auction of major minerals and aims to set new records in the auction of minor minerals.
Present during the discussions were Additional Director of Mines, Jodhpur, Shri Y.S. Sahwal, and Additional Director of Petroleum, Shri Ajay Sharma, along with other officials.
Zero Tolerance for Illegal Mining Activities
Shri Ravikant, during a meeting with mining officials at RSMML Auditorium in Jodhpur, instructed officers to remain highly active in the field and take effective action against illegal mining activities while expediting revenue collection. He also directed district-level environmental clearance holders to ensure Form 2 is submitted and uploaded on the Parivesh Portal within the stipulated timeframe.
He stressed completing delineation work, mining plans, and other tasks within the set deadlines and urged adopting modern techniques for record maintenance to safeguard and efficiently manage critical departmental records.
