Appointments for Over 20,500 Posts, Promotions for 18,000 Personnel in School Education Department
Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized the pivotal role of education in achieving the vision of a developed Rajasthan, stating that today’s children are the future citizens of the nation. The state government is committed to providing high-quality education to all students, focusing on the use of modern technologies, recruitment for vacant positions, and the construction of classrooms in schools. He added that the government is working at various levels to effectively implement the New Education Policy and establish Rajasthan as a model state in the education sector.
The Chief Minister addressed a review meeting of the School Education Department held at the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday. He instructed officials to expedite departmental budget announcements. He highlighted that around 3.5 crore free textbooks have been distributed at the beginning of the academic session to ensure smooth teaching. Additionally, students from Classes 1 to 8 and girls from Classes 9 to 12 will receive school bags. Next month, 1.25 lakh bicycles will be distributed to girl students.
Appointments for Over 20,500 Posts
The Chief Minister stated that the government is recruiting to improve the quality of teaching in schools. To date, over 20,500 posts have been filled, and approximately 18,000 personnel have been promoted. Recruitment is underway for more than 5,000 positions, including School Education Professors, Librarians (Grade 2 and 3), and Senior Teachers. Furthermore, 515 selected candidates in various categories will be appointed in December. He directed officials to continue filling vacancies in a phased manner.
Teacher Allocation Based on Student Numbers
The Chief Minister instructed officials to survey the teacher-student ratio in all schools and allocate teachers accordingly. He emphasized uniformity in dress codes across government and private schools. Sharma also directed the physical verification of classrooms and toilets in girls’ schools to address repair and reconstruction needs. He warned of strict action against negligence in physical verification tasks. For better safety and discipline, the Chief Minister ordered the phased installation of CCTV cameras in schools, encouraging support from donors for this initiative.
Achievements and Innovations in School Education
Principal Secretary for School Education Krishna Kunal briefed the Chief Minister on the department’s achievements and innovations. Notably, the department received investment proposals worth ₹12,400 crores during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. Record tree plantation drives were conducted under the “Harialo Rajasthan” and “A Tree for Mother” campaigns. Additionally, 1.34 crore students set a world record by performing Surya Namaskar. Other initiatives include the School Health Survey, Prakhar Rajasthan Reading Campaign, PM Shri Schools, Shala Sambal App, sports competitions, and the E-Pathshala program.
The meeting was attended by School Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Additional Chief Secretary for Finance Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister) Shikhar Agarwal, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Avichal Chaturvedi, Director of Secondary Education Ashish Modi, and senior officials of the School Education Department.
