Global Skill Park is the only world-class institute in Asia: Entrepreneurship Development Minister (UP) Shri Agarwal
Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, youth are being trained in modern technology of skills under Skill India. Asia’s only world-class Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park was built with the cooperation of Singapore for training the youth. Here advanced technology training is given as per global standards. To get information about innovations and advanced trades in the field of skill development and training, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Kapil Dev Agarwal along with Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Employment, Shri Gautam Tetwal held discussions with the officials of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park. Secretary of Skill Development and Employment Shri Rajendran Raghuraj and officials gave detailed information about the functioning of GSP, courses, industry connect, admission process, post placement support and demand based skill training and innovations.
Minister Shri Tetwal and Minister Shri Agarwal visited the entire institute including the world class laboratories, class rooms, auditorium of GSP. Both the ministers reached the class room and interacted with the students. The students shared their teaching methods and experiences. Both the ministers motivated the students for continuous progress. Minister Shri Agarwal met the students of UP receiving training in GSP and got a group photo taken with everyone.
The ministers emphasized that efforts will have to be enhanced to bring students to the Global Skill Park. Also, the need to train the students within the stipulated time frame as per the demand of various sectors of the industry was emphasized. Along with the placement of the students, instructions were given to include regular follow-up and post-placement monitoring in the priorities of the institute even after placement. UP Minister Shri Agarwal said that this institute is the only world-class centre of its kind in Asia, which is giving a new direction to the lives of youth by imparting skill training as per global standards. Minister Shri Agarwal said that students and faculty from Uttar Pradesh will be regularly sent to GSP for training. He also enquired about the admission process and fees of GSP. UP Minister Shri Agarwal also visited ITI Govindpura. He also invited Minister Shri Tetwal and GSP staff for the Kumbh Mela to be held in Prayagraj in January.
Minister Shri Tetwal said that this institute is a symbol of skill development of youth as well as their empowerment and self-reliance. He thanked Prime Minister Shri Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. He described it as a platform which is becoming a bridge between technical education and employment. Minister Shri Tetwal said that it is due to this cooperation that when I went to Ayodhya, the Skill Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Agarwal also came on the same day. That is when I requested Minister Shri Agarwal to visit GSP. He gladly accepted my request and came here with his team.
This meeting between the Skill Development Ministers of MP and UP is a new beginning of partnership in skill development between Central and North India. The ministers of both the states agreed that together new opportunities will be created for the youth. With enthusiasm among the students and hopes for the future, this day emerged as an inspiring example in the field of skill development.
Secretary Shri R. Raghuraj said that this institute is providing training in various advanced trades as per the demand of the industry. Also, trainers from various industries also come here and obtain training in advanced trades. Many excellent industrial institutes are also working as partners of GSP.
Principal Secretary of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Alok Kumar, Director of Directorate of Training and Employment Smt. Neha Prakash, Additional Director of Directorate of Training and Employment Shri Manpal Singh, Additional Secretary of Skill Development and Employment of Madhya Pradesh and Project Director of DTESDE Shri Girish Sharma, MPSDP CEO, MPSSDEGB, CEO, SSR GSP and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
