‘Dry Day’ Declared in Mumbai City on Mahaparinirvan Day
Mumbai : On the occasion of the 68th Mahaparinirvan Day of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, all wholesale and retail outlets selling domestic and foreign liquor in the Mumbai City district will remain closed on December 6, 2024. Mumbai City District Collector Sanjay Yadav has issued orders stating that all excise licenses under the jurisdiction of the State Excise F Division Inspector will remain closed from 5 PM on December 5, 2024, until the end of December 6. Strict action will be taken against license holders failing to comply with the order.
According to the order, all excise licenses under the jurisdiction of the State Excise D Division Inspector, which includes areas under N.M. Joshi Marg and Worli Police Stations, and under the jurisdiction of the State Excise E Division Inspector, which includes areas under Bhoiwada and Matunga Police Stations, will remain closed throughout December 6, 2024.
All concerned excise license holders are advised to take note of this order. Non-compliance will result in strict action under Sections 54 and 56 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, as stated in the order issued by District Collector Mr. Yadav.
