Raipur: State GST raids establishments of businessmen who misbehave with employees
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has taken seriously the incident of businessmen threatening state tax inspectors during government work and has directed for strict action on it.
It is noteworthy that the State Tax GST Department is identifying bogus firms and suspicious firms on the basis of risk parameters and taking action for physical verification of such firms. On the instructions of the department, on receiving a complaint of irregularity against M/s Yogesh Commercial, Mahesh Colony, Gudhiyari, Raipur based Munish Kumar Shah and M/s Shri Jagannath Construction, Daldal Seoni, State Tax Inspectors Mrs. Ritu Sonkar and Mr. Homesh Verma were directed for physical verification of the business. In compliance with the order, the tax inspectors went for physical verification, but the said two businessmen misbehaved with the inspectors and threatened them, which caused hindrance in the government work of physical verification of the business. This act of the businessmen was taken seriously by Chief Minister Mr. Sai.
Under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Sai, the department investigated the transactions of the businessmen and today the department conducted investigation and seizure proceedings at the establishments of both the firms for tax evasion and non-compliance of the provisions of the GST Act. The department took action to register an FIR in the police station against the said persons for obstructing government work and threatening the officers.
