Bilaspur: 11 trucks and 8 tractors seized while illegally mining and transporting minerals
On the instructions of Collector Avneesh Sharan, continuous action is being taken by the Mineral and Revenue Department on illegal excavation and transportation of minerals. The joint team of both the departments took action on December 6 on receiving a complaint of illegal sand excavation and transportation in village Karhikchar. In which 7 Hiva vehicles found involved in sand transportation by the Mineral Department have been confiscated and kept under police protection in Belgahna police station. The Revenue Department has also confiscated 4 Hiva and 4 tractors and kept for security in the Tehsil office. Action is being taken by registering cases as per rules in all cases. Notice is also being issued to the Karhikchar sand mine operator. Apart from this, today itself, 4 tractors have been confiscated by the Mineral Staff from Ghutku, Kachhar and Pendrava area while transporting illegal sand and kept for security in Koni police station. Joint action is going on by the Mineral Department, Revenue and Police Department on illegal excavation, transportation and storage of minerals. The Forest Department is also taking strict action as per rules in cases of illegal mineral excavation and transportation within forest areas.
