“Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit” and “Pravasi Rajasthani Conclave”
Rajasthanis have made significant contributions to improving the economic conditions wherever they have gone. Rajasthan has a rightful claim on its diaspora; they should return, invest, and contribute to the development of Rajasthan – Governor Hari Bhau Bhagat. The diaspora should participate in the state’s growth. A special department will be established for them – Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Jaipur, December 10: Governor Hari Bhau Bhagat stated that Rajasthanis have contributed to improving the economy wherever they have settled. He mentioned that the population of Rajasthan is around 8 crores, while an additional 2–2.5 crore people live outside the state. He emphasized that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma should rightfully call these diaspora members back to Rajasthan and invite them to invest. He said Rajasthan has a claim on its diaspora, and they should return to repay their debt to their motherland through investments. Referring to a proverb from Maharashtra, he said, “Where bullock carts cannot reach, Marwaris can.” Rajasthanis have excelled wherever they have gone, earning recognition through dedication and hard work.
The Governor was speaking at the “Pravasi Rajasthani Conclave” organized during the “Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit.” He said that members of the Rajasthani diaspora have played a vital role in strengthening the country’s economy. Now it is time to develop Rajasthan.
The Governor highlighted that Rajasthan is a leader in the dairy sector, though further development is needed. He assured potential investors that the state government would provide every possible support to those who come to invest. He stressed the importance of preserving rainwater to enable multiple crops instead of just one. He called for providing jobs in tribal areas, establishing factories in backward regions, and improving the economic conditions of the poor, farmers, and nomadic communities through diaspora contributions.
The Governor praised the state’s efforts in cow conservation and appreciated the work being done for cows in shelters. He lauded the Chief Minister’s initiatives to promote investment and highlighted the importance of the state’s investment policy.
December 10 to Be Observed as Pravasi Rajasthani Day: Chief Minister
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the Rajasthani diaspora have brought pride to the state. The government has decided to establish a special department for the diaspora’s welfare and observe December 10 annually as Pravasi Rajasthani Day. He announced the institution of an annual Pravasi Rajasthani Award to recognize the diaspora’s contributions. Each district will have a single-point contact system to assist families of the diaspora facing difficulties.
Committed to Developing a Prosperous Rajasthan
The Chief Minister said that Rajasthan is scaling new heights of development. With the country’s third-largest highway network, fifth-largest railway network, seven major airports, and the Delhi-Mumbai Freight Corridor, Rajasthan is now a highly favorable transportation hub. As India’s largest state, it is emerging as a land of significant opportunities.
He outlined the government’s ambition to grow the state’s economy to $350 billion over the next five years. Rajasthan is a leader in renewable energy and is well-positioned for solar and wind energy production. Highlighting Rajasthan’s immense potential, he said every corner of the state reflects its rich heritage, culture, and natural diversity. Increasing wildlife, wellness, wedding, and religious tourism is driving demand for more hotels, attracting millions of tourists annually from across the globe.
The Chief Minister also pointed to the mining sector’s vast potential, referencing the recent launch of the Rajasthan Mineral Policy 2024 and the Rajasthan M-Sand Policy 2024. He added that sectors like automobiles, electronics, engineering, textiles, medical equipment, defense, food processing, and data centers offer excellent opportunities for investment.
Streamlined Government Processes for an Investor-Friendly Environment
The Chief Minister assured that the government has simplified processes to create a business-friendly environment. Ten new policies have been implemented, and timely approvals are ensured through the RajNivesh Portal. He urged the diaspora to invest in their motherland and strengthen their future generations’ connection with Rajasthan.

Sikkim Governor Om Mathur praised the hard work of Rajasthanis worldwide, noting their reputation for excellence wherever they go. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in positioning India as a global leader over the past decade, advancing toward becoming a “world guru” and “golden bird.”
Mathur highlighted Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s dedication to making the Rising Rajasthan program a success and assured that the government would support all initiatives for the diaspora. He encouraged the diaspora to visit their villages annually and work together to make Rajasthan the number one state in India.

Union Minister for Environment and Forests Bhupender Yadav emphasized the significance of the Rising Summit under Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India. He praised Chief Minister Sharma’s leadership in extending the summit’s influence globally and organizing a successful program for investors.
Nirmal Kumar Sethia, founder of the N. Sethia Group of Companies (UK), highlighted Rajasthan’s legacy of bravery and called for unity and humanity alongside success.
Ashok Odhrani, chairman of the Rajasthan Business and Professionals Group (Dubai), praised Rajasthan’s cultural heritage and the government’s efforts to promote investment through initiatives like RIPS-2024.

Ajay Piramal, chairman of the Piramal Group, stressed the need for social investment alongside economic investment and highlighted his foundation’s collaboration with Rajasthan in education.
Industry Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore said the state government has eliminated bureaucratic hurdles to promote investment and export, providing facilities like freight subsidies and single-window systems for approvals.
The event featured cultural performances by 108 Langa and Manganiyar child artists and short films on investment opportunities and the diaspora. It was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, ministers, legislators, officials, and a large number of diaspora members.
