Jaipur – A grand graduation ceremony for newly appointed home guards, drummers, buglers, and drivers was held on Wednesday at the Central Training Institute of Home Defense in Fatehpura, Begas. The event was graced by the Tribal Regional Development and Home Defense Minister, Shri Babulal Kharadi, as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kharadi stated that the government is taking numerous steps to strengthen the Home Defense Organization, considering current challenges. Efforts are underway to allocate budgets for constructing seven departmental offices. Recruitment processes for 4 Deputy Commandants, 84 Platoon Commanders, and 149 constables will soon commence. Additionally, two new Border Home Defense Battalions are being planned.
Director-General and Chief Commandant Shri Rajesh Nirwan noted that this graduation ceremony was held after more than 20 years in the department. The ceremony included 88 male and 25 female home guards and drivers who underwent 16 weeks of training at the Police Training School in Alwar, 96 days at the Central Training Institute, and one month each of field training with urban and border home defense units. From April to November 2024, the number of volunteers increased by 1,836.
During the award distribution, Shri Kharadi presented commendation medals and scrolls, conferred by the Honorable President, to Deputy Commandant Shri Ramjilal Jat and Honorary Company Commander Shri Mohan Singh Chauhan for their meritorious service.
Additionally, awards were presented to outstanding performers during training. Among the drivers, Shri Ramswaroop Garhwal received the All-Rounder and Indoor First prizes, while Shri Nanda Ram Jat received the Outdoor First prize. Among the home guards, Shri Rajneesh Kumar was awarded the All-Rounder and Indoor First prizes, and Shri Sata Ram topped the Outdoor category. Each recipient was given certificates and trophies.
The ceremony commenced with a spirited march by the new recruits, pledging allegiance to the national and departmental flags to the rhythm of drums. The parade was led by Parade Commander Constable Sushri Mamta Choudhary.
At the event, DG Shri Nirwan presented a memento to Cabinet Minister Shri Kharadi. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Central Training Institute Director, acknowledging the presence of officials, guests, and media personnel.
The ceremony was attended by State Crime Records Bureau Director-General Shri Hemant Priyadarshi, Special Secretary of Home Department Smt. Anuprerna Kuntal, personnel from the Home Defense Department, families of the recruits, volunteers, senior officials from other departments, media representatives, and esteemed guests.
