2,856 Crore Rupees Deposited in the Accounts of Workers Under the Employment Guarantee Scheme

Mumbai : Information has been provided by the Employment Guarantee Scheme Department that a total of 2,856.30 crore rupees have been deposited in the bank accounts of workers under the Employment Guarantee Scheme in the state for the year 2024-25.

Under this scheme, wages for up to 100 days are provided from the funds received from the central government. Wages beyond 100 days are provided from the state government’s funds. Accordingly, in the year 2024-25, a total of 2,616.30 crore rupees for wages up to 100 days and 240 crore rupees for wages beyond 100 days, amounting to a total of 2,856.30 crore rupees, have been directly deposited into the workers’ bank accounts.

The information provided by the ‘Rohyo’ department also states that a total of 72.09 crore rupees for wages have been deposited into the accounts of workers in Palghar district, with 66.21 crore rupees from the central government and 5.88 crore rupees from the state government for the year 2024-25.
