Soybean production of MP farmers increased due to their hard work and better management
Almost half of the country’s soybeans are produced in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh ranks first in soybean production in the entire country. Madhya Pradesh has been able to achieve this due to the hard work of the farmers and better arrangements made by the government in the interest of the farmers. Agricultural production contributes significantly to the agricultural economy. Soybean is the most sown crop among Kharif crops. The area and production of soybean is increasing in the state. Compared to last year, the area under soybean in the state has increased by about 2 percent. At present the soybean area of the state is more than 66 lakh hectares. It is estimated that the procurement of about 6.5 to 7 lakh metric tonnes of soybean will be completed in the state by December 31. Notably, Madhya Pradesh has succeeded in becoming the largest producer of soybean state leaving behind Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Madhya Pradesh government has made arrangements to give an amount of Rs 4 thousand 892 per quintal as the minimum support price for soybean to the farmers. Because of the significant increase in soybean production in the state, necessary arrangements for procurement have been made.

Arrangements have also been made for storage and safety of the procured soybean. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s instructions are to provide farmers with the benefits of modern procurement systems. For the first time in the state, soybean is being procured at a support price. An E-procurement portal is also being used. Arrangements have been made to pay the amount online to the farmers. |
These are the top 10 districts in terms of payment
Rs 1957.1 crore has been paid so far as procurement to about two lakh farmers in the state. The percentage of payment in the state is 70.41. Neemuch district is leading in the payment of the amount, where 100 percent of farmers have been given the amount. Neemuch, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Agar Malwa, Shahdol, Anuppur, Jabalpur, Umaria and Khargone are among the top ten districts where more than 75 percent of the farmers have been paid the amount. Nearly 95 percent work of transportation of soybean has also been completed in the state. Highest soybean production occurs in Malwa region of the state. From the registration of farmers, to the arrangement of essential gunny bags, transportation, storage and payment of funds, regular reviews are also being done from the capital to the districts.
