Head of Indian Navy’s Material Department, Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh
New Delhi : AVSM, VSM Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh today took over as the head of the Indian Navy’s Material Department.
Vice Admiral Deshmukh earned his engineering degree from VJTI, Mumbai University. He took charge as an engineer officer in the Indian Navy on March 31, 1986. He has also obtained a postgraduate degree in engineering and a postgraduate degree from the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington.
Vice Admiral Deshmukh has held important responsibilities in various offices, including the Navy Headquarters, testing institutions, material coordination, Naval Dockyard at HQENC, and Command Staff, where he managed personnel and staff in the material department. Additionally, he has worked on frontline ships in the Rajput, Delhi, and Teg classes.
In recognition of his remarkable service in the Navy, he has been honored with the Distinguished Service Medal and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.
