Mumbai : All schools in the state are participating in the ongoing ‘Chief Minister My School, Beautiful School’ campaign. Under this, the top three winning schools in the competition will be visited by the Chief Minister himself, as informed by School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar. On this occasion, he urged alumni to take part in the campaign to make their school a ‘Beautiful School’.

The ‘Chief Minister My School, Beautiful School’ campaign was inaugurated on December 5, 2023, in the presence of Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The campaign will run from January 1 to February 15, 2024, in schools across the state. Minister Kesarkar took a review of the campaign today. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of School Education Ranjit Singh Deol, Commissioner of School Education Suraj Mandhre, State Project Director of the Primary Education Council Pradeep Dange, Director of Secondary Education Sampat Suryavanshi, Additional Secretary Imtiaz Kazi, Chief Minister’s Special Officer Amit Hukkerykar, and other concerned officials.

Under this campaign, Chief Minister Shinde has written a letter to students, and around two crore students will read this letter in front of their parents. Afterward, the students will write and upload slogans based on their experiences in the education system. One student from each district will be selected, and the winners will get a chance to interact with the Chief Minister in Mumbai, as shared by Minister Kesarkar.

It is expected that all schools across various managements and mediums in the state will participate in the campaign. For this, the schools under government and local self-governments, as well as other schools under different managements, have been categorized into two groups. The campaign will be conducted at three levels: Mumbai Metropolitan area schools, Class A and Class B schools under municipal corporations, and schools across the rest of Maharashtra.

Campaign Objectives:
The primary objective of the campaign is to develop students’ academic quality while encouraging the use of modern technology in teaching, learning, and administration. The campaign will encourage students’ love for the nation and promote national unity, emphasize the importance of vocational education, and foster personality development by encouraging innate talents. It also aims to instill gratitude and responsibility towards schools among teachers, students, alumni, and parents.

Participating schools will be evaluated based on various criteria. Schools will be awarded points for student-centered activities (60 points) and for activities organized by the school management and their participation in various components (40 points). Activities such as beautification of the school and campus, student involvement in various projects, management and decision-making processes, and the school’s cleanliness will be given points. Additionally, organizing sports competitions (with an emphasis on traditional games) and ensuring national unity will be evaluated.
