Natural Disaster Compensation of ₹535 Crores for 5.30 Lakh Farmers – Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation, Makrand Jadhav-Patil

Mumbai : In a significant move to provide relief to farmers affected by natural disasters, the state government has taken important steps. A total of ₹535.65 crores has been distributed as compensation to 5,30,045 farmers. The amount has been directly deposited into the bank accounts of the affected farmers, as informed by the Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation, Makrand Jadhav-Patil.

The government has always prioritized providing relief to farmers impacted by natural calamities. Since March 2023, a total of ₹9307 crores (nine thousand three hundred seven crores) has been deposited directly into the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of farmers for agricultural crop damages caused by various natural disasters through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

The department launched a special campaign to ensure farmers’ e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) was completed promptly, allowing for fast verification of pending cases. Minister Jadhav-Patil mentioned that this strategic initiative has made it possible to distribute immediate relief to the affected farmers.

The state government remains sensitive to the needs of farmers who have suffered due to natural calamities. This compensation reflects the government’s commitment to an emergency response to such situations, as expressed by Minister Jadhav-Patil.

The Relief and Rehabilitation Department is working diligently to ensure that these farmers receive their compensation promptly. A total of ₹535 crores has been distributed to 5,30,000 farmers across the state due to various natural disasters. The compensation is being credited to the Aadhaar-linked accounts of the concerned farmers.

The compensation distribution includes:

  • Amravati Division: ₹16.11 crore for 10,135 farmers in Amravati, ₹6.95 crore for 6,264 farmers in Buldhana, ₹6.17 crore for 5,557 farmers in Akola, ₹4.26 crore for 5,171 farmers in Yavatmal, and ₹1.85 crore for 1,792 farmers in Washim.
  • Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Division: ₹178.65 crore for 1,68,089 farmers in Latur, ₹121.64 crore for 1,12,648 farmers in Parbhani, ₹30.22 crore for 39,093 farmers in Beed, ₹3.23 crore for 3,619 farmers in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, ₹1.63 crore for 2,408 farmers in Hingoli, ₹1.58 crore for 1,886 farmers in Nanded, ₹1.57 crore for 1,590 farmers in Jalna, and ₹32.50 lakh for 342 farmers in Dharashiv.
  • Konkan Division: ₹1.22 crore for 1,742 farmers in Palghar, ₹23.47 lakh for 920 farmers in Sindhudurg, ₹12.48 lakh for 127 farmers in Thane, ₹10.67 lakh for 161 farmers in Raigad, and ₹1.72 lakh for 71 farmers in Ratnagiri.
  • Nagpur Division: ₹41.87 crore for 45,924 farmers in Chandrapur, ₹19.16 crore for 18,988 farmers in Gadchiroli, ₹19.14 crore for 19,037 farmers in Bhandara, ₹16.39 crore for 16,284 farmers in Wardha, ₹6.26 crore for 5,995 farmers in Gondia, and ₹2.96 crore for 2,158 farmers in Nagpur.
  • Nashik Division: ₹5.65 crore for 4,274 farmers in Jalgaon, ₹4.43 crore for 5,042 farmers in Nashik, ₹2.54 crore for 2,975 farmers in Ahilyanagar, ₹46.83 lakh for 483 farmers in Dhule, and ₹2.78 lakh for 17 farmers in Nandurbar.
  • Pune Division: ₹35.87 crore for 43,321 farmers in Kolhapur, ₹4.25 crore for 3,013 farmers in Solapur, ₹52.12 lakh for 522 farmers in Sangli, ₹32.74 lakh for 390 farmers in Pune, and ₹1.14 lakh for 27 farmers in Satara.
