Efforts to Resolve Pending Issues in Daund Region – Deputy CM Ajit Pawar

Pune : Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar assured that efforts will be made to address the pending infrastructure and other issues in the Daund region. He also announced that a CBSE school would be established in a 7-acre area by Vidya Pratishthan to provide quality education for local students.

Speaking at the inauguration of the multipurpose new building of the Daund Co-operative Society, Pawar was joined by prominent figures such as Pune District Central Co-operative Bank Chairman Prof. Digambar Durgade, Director Ramesh Thorat, Daund Sugar Pvt. Ltd. Director Veer Dhaval Jagdale, Tehsildar Arun Shelar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Bapurao Tadas, Group Development Officer Prashant Kale, and Chairperson of Daund Co-operative Society Vaishali Jagdale, among others.

Ajit Pawar highlighted that the Daund Co-operative Society, established in 1960, has constructed this state-of-the-art building at a cost of ₹1.95 crore, adding value to the region. He emphasized the importance of transparent operations within co-operative societies and warned against malpractice. Pawar also stressed collective efforts to sustain the co-operative movement and pledged to make necessary reforms.

He further mentioned that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to construct 3 crore houses across the country, efforts are underway to build 35 lakh houses in Maharashtra. The state budget includes provisions for waiving electricity costs for agricultural pumps of 3, 5, and 7.5 HP capacities. Additionally, ₹70 crore has been credited to the accounts of women under the “Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin” scheme, which will continue in the future. He urged citizens not to believe in rumors and to benefit from welfare schemes implemented jointly by the state and central governments.

Regarding the Janai-Shirsai Lift Irrigation Project, Pawar announced that ₹429 crore has been sanctioned for water supply through closed pipelines, with work to begin soon. Furthermore, a tunnel will be constructed from Khadakwasla Dam to Fursungi, which is expected to save 3 TMC of water.

He also stated that the government has decided to strengthen Zilla Parishad schools and primary health centers across the district. Citizens are urged to cooperate as efforts are made to enhance infrastructure and provide quality services.

At the event, Vaishali Jagdale shared insights about the Daund Co-operative Society’s progress and expressed hopes for establishing a Pune District Central Co-operative Bank branch in the area.

On this occasion, Ajit Pawar distributed the first installment of the “Lek Ladki Yojana” to beneficiary Ovi Ravindra Ghule from Kurkumbh. He also reviewed the “Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin” scheme with child development project officials.

The event was attended by Co-operative Societies Assistant Registrars Harshad Taware and Devidas Misal, Child Development Project Officer Akshada Shinde, and many citizens.
