ERWWO Sealdah’s Visit to All Bengal Women’s Union Promotes Welfare and Inclusivity
Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (ERWWO), Sealdah has been continuously involved in various noble social welfare programs, namely organising Health Checkup Camps, Sports Meet for Differently Abled Children, distribution of sanitary napkins to indigent women etc. to promote inclusivity and empowerment. These initiatives demonstrate ERWWO’s unwavering dedication in addressing various social issues and promoting the well-being of marginalised communities.
Smt. Gunjan Nigam, President, ERWWO, Sealdah, led a dedicated team of members to the All Bengal Women’s Union today i.e., 21.01.2025 as a part of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to community welfare.
During the visit, the ERWWO team extended support to the residents and children associated with the Union. Food packets, confectionery items and health drinks were distributed amongst the residents of the old-age home, ensuring their nutritional well-being. Study materials including exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers etc. were donated to the school for orphaned girl child, promoting their academic pursuits. The team had a wonderful time engaging in heartfelt conversations with the residents. The atmosphere came alive with cultural expressions as they performed Rabindra Sangeet, while one elderly resident, fondly referred to as “Bridha Di,” mesmerised everyone by singing an old folk song, “Dhumri”. Bridha Di shared that she used to write for a leading daily newspaper, adding a touch of nostalgia and inspiration to the visit.
