Fire Department Seizes Over 250 Unauthorized Gas Cylinders in Mahakumbh Mela Area
Campaign Led by Chief Fire Officer to Prevent Fire Hazards
Mahakumbhnagar : Following recent fire incidents in the Mahakumbh Mela area, the Fire Department has launched a campaign against the use of unauthorized small gas cylinders. Under the leadership of Chief Fire Officer Pramod Sharma, over 250 such cylinders have been confiscated in the past two days. This initiative aims to prevent fire accidents caused by gas cylinder leaks. The seized cylinders will be destroyed and repurposed into an artistic creation called the “Suraksha Amrit Kalash.”
Comprehensive Campaign in Action
Pramod Sharma stated that the campaign is being conducted under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police, Prayagraj Zone, Bhanu Bhaskar. Reports suggested that despite warnings from the Fire Department, some individuals were secretly using unauthorized gas cylinders for cooking and other purposes. When these warnings were ignored, the department initiated a large-scale crackdown.
Creation of ‘Suraksha Amrit Kalash’
During the campaign on Wednesday and Thursday, over 250 illegal gas cylinders were seized and brought to the local police station. These cylinders will be dismantled and transformed into a sculpture called the “Suraksha Amrit Kalash,” which will be installed at a prominent intersection in the Mahakumbh Mela area to spread awareness about fire safety.
