RPF ASI Alok Ranjan Mitra Honored with President’s Medal for Meritorious Service

Sri Alok Ranjan Mitra, Assistant Sub Inspector/ RPF of Eastern Railway gets President’s Medal for Meritorious Service. Mr. Alok Ranjan Mitra, ASI / Barasat RPF Post / Sealdah Division is very sincere, hardworking and devoted to his duties. Before posting at Barasat in the year 2024, he worked in Security Control / Sealdah for long time. He is very efficient in man management and maintained good relation with others department’s control room. After the introduction of Help Line No. 182, twitter and other complaint medium, Sri Mitra has shown tremendous capacity for rising to the occasion and attending all complaints with proper procedure of collecting details from complainant in a friendly manner and then timely intimation to post in charges. He did not stop at this stage, rather used to collect details about final disposal of the matter as well. The performance of Alok Ranjan Mitra, ASI is really praise worthy and outstanding.  Presently he has been performing DO Duty, Train Escorting Duty etc. In his short tenure at Barasat RPF Post he felt his presence and detected several Railway Act cases under rule 144,147, 162 etc. To summaries, his working as an RPF official is unique and outstanding.

On the occasion of Republic Day 2025, the Hon’ble President of India has awarded President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) and Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) to altogether 16 Officers and staff of RPF/RPSF. The President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) is awarded for a specially distinguished record of service, while the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) is awarded for valuable service characterized by resourcefulness and devotion to duty.
