Lok Sabha 24 : Jamshedpur, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai of Chhattisgarh addressed pressing issues facing the state, notably amidst the incarceration of its leader on corruption charges. Reflecting on the gravity of the situation, he remarked, “A state whose chief minister is in jail on charges of corruption—what greater misfortune could befall it?” He further highlighted the arrest of a minister under ED investigation, along with the seizure of substantial sums from his associates, as matters of deep concern.
Speaking at the conference organized by the local BJP chapter, Chief Minister Sai emphasized the necessity of a “double engine government” for state development. He lamented the impediments to progress caused by political instability and the resurgence of Naxalism. He also criticized the alleged rampant corruption within the government, stating that it hindered the effective implementation of central schemes, ultimately depriving citizens of their rightful benefits.
Sai underscored the historical ties between Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, referring to them as “twin brothers.” He commended the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming elections. Predicting a sweeping victory for the party, he asserted that all 14 seats in Jharkhand and 11 seats in Chhattisgarh would be secured by the BJP.
The Chief Minister’s visit culminated in a grand roadshow in Jamshedpur, in support of BJP candidate Vidyut Varan Mahato. The event, marked by enthusiastic participation from various social organizations and citizens, showcased overwhelming support for the party’s agenda.
As the roadshow traversed through the city streets, lined with cheering supporters, Chief Minister Sai extended his gratitude to the people of Jamshedpur and the BJP for their unwavering commitment.
