CM Devendra Fadnavis Inaugurates Manish Nagar RUB
Manish Nagar’s Traffic Woes to Ease
Event Chaired by Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari
Nagpur : The connectivity issue in Manish Nagar has persisted for the last 20-25 years. A flyover was constructed earlier to address the problem, but traffic congestion remained a challenge. To resolve this, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, proposed the construction of a Railway Under Bridge (RUB) as an alternative connectivity solution. This project will significantly help ease traffic congestion in the area, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The Railway Under Bridge at Somalwada (Manish Nagar), designed to alleviate traffic bottlenecks, was inaugurated by CM Devendra Fadnavis under the chairmanship of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Minister of State for Finance Ashish Jaiswal, Minister of State for Public Works Indranil Naik, MLA Kripal Tumane, Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar, and Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Chaudhary were also present at the event.
More Connectivity Solutions in the Pipeline
Highlighting the project’s significance, CM Fadnavis acknowledged the challenging nature of the work and commended Maha Metro for successfully executing it. He also announced plans to construct a third connectivity route in the area.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari noted that an underpass had been built earlier, but it did not fully resolve the issue. Thus, a new underpass location was identified and the project was entrusted to Maha Metro. He further stated that the Maharashtra government has approved a third flyover, which will directly connect to Hotel Radisson, ensuring better connectivity for residents of Manish Nagar, Besa, and Beltarodi.
