MSPMC Team Inspects Various Ongoing Projects in Siaha

Siaha : Today, the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee (MSPMC), led by its Vice Chairman, Pu R Lalrinawma, IRS (Retd), conducted an inspection of various ongoing projects in Siaha, including the Siaha DC Office Building and Bungalow, Polytechnic Building, and Nursing School Building.

The MSPMC team was divided into two groups for the inspection. The first team, led by the Vice Chairman, examined the Siaha DC Office Building and Bungalow, Polytechnic Building (including the Administrative Building, Hostel, and Staff Quarters), and the Nursing School. Meanwhile, the second team, led by MSPMC Secretary Er Lalthanzuala Ralte, inspected the EMRS School at Noaotla, the Siaha-Lobo-Tluangram (Hakha/Myanmar) area, and the Noaotla to Chakhei road construction under PMGSY.

The DC Office Building, constructed by MPWD under NEDP, has an approved cost of ₹610.11 lakhs. Work began on October 31, 2018, and was planned for completion within two years. Currently, 90% of the work is completed. The DC Bungalow (Type VI), also built by MPWD under NEDP, had an estimated cost of ₹110.90 lakhs. Construction started on November 26, 2018, and is 98.3% complete.

At Thosai Polytechnic, the Administrative cum Academic Block was executed by MPWD under CSS, with construction commencing on April 11, 2016. The Hostel Building and Staff Quarters, also funded under CSS, were initiated on the same date. The Polytechnic Staff Quarters had an approved cost of ₹800 lakhs, but work has yet to be completed. Similarly, the GNM School Building, constructed by the H&FW Department under CSS, had an estimated cost of ₹377.10 lakhs, with construction starting in January 2013.

During the inspection, the MSPMC team met with the contractors to review the reasons for project delays and challenges. They discussed possible solutions to ensure timely completion and proper utilization of the buildings. The team also evaluated the quality of completed work and addressed various concerns regarding ongoing construction.

The inspection team included MSPMC Vice Chairman Pu R Lalrinawma, IRS (Retd), Er Sanghrima Chawngthu (MSPMC Member), Pi Vanchhungi (Task Force MSPMC), and other officials. Another team, led by MSPMC Secretary Er Lalthanzuala Ralte, included Er H Laldintluanga (MSPMC Member), Dr. Laldinpuia (MSPMC Member), and other members.
