‘Harry Potter’ applauds Mahakumbh and Yogi government’s efforts
Mahakumbhnagar : The desire to experience the intangible cultural heritage of Mahakumbh-2025 goes beyond India, captivating people from all over the world. Recently, a viral video caught the attention of netizens globally, showing a foreigner enjoying food at a Bhandara with immense enthusiasm. The video quickly went viral, with social media users dubbing him ‘Harry Potter’.
The man in the spotlight is Nicolo Brugnara, an Italian photographer, who has been captivated by the spiritual grandeur of Maha Kumbh. As he revels in the global attention, Brugnara continues to express his deep admiration for India, Yoga, and the Yogi Adityanath-led government’s efforts in organizing the sacred event.
Nicolo Brugnara, an Italian news agency cameraman, arrived at the Mahakumbh Mela to cover the event and take photographs. He is also part of a documentary being made on the Mahakumbh. What began as a mission to capture the essence of the event has now turned into a personal journey, as Nicolo has unexpectedly become a part of the story he was originally covering. His social media popularity has skyrocketed, with people eagerly taking selfies, making reels, and engaging with him. Nicolo himself never anticipated that he would become such a sensation so far from home.
Nicolo feels incredibly fortunate to have come from Italy to cover the Mahakumbh. He marvels at the sight of crores of people gathering in one place to bathe, worship, and meditate in such an organized and coordinated manner. In his view, the whole process is nothing short of a wonder.
He admires how India, with great love, brings everyone together, making them feel like part of a shared experience. The peaceful gathering of such a massive crowd, he believes, is an unimaginable sight. Nicolo notes that such a scene would be impossible to envision in Europe, as it would be unfeasible to accommodate such a vast number of people in terms of population and behavior.
Nicolo praised the double engine government, efforts of the Yogi government and local fair administration in organizing the Mahakumbh. As a yoga practitioner himself, he understands the power of yoga and how it can be a catalyst for achieving the impossible. His admiration for the Chief Minister’s leadership is evident. He believes that the efficiency with which Yogi Adityanath has managed this event is unmatched and that what Yogi has done is beyond the capability of anyone else.
Nicolo, who never imagined he would become so popular in India, was surprised when people began comparing him to Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who played Harry Potter. While eating food at a bhandaara, a video of Nicolo went viral, and people began calling him “Harry Potter.” Amused by the comparison, Nicolo jokes that he is much more handsome than Daniel. However, the love and attention he has received from people has been overwhelming. He was simply there to document the event, but his viral moment has turned him into a representative of Hogwarts at the Mahakumbh.
Nicolo is a skilled cameraman and he came to Mahakumbh with the expectation that the photographs he took would bring him recognition. But the fame he gained through social media was an unexpected twist. Describing the experience as a “miracle,” Nicolo shares that he never imagined he would become the center of attention in this way. The warmth and love he has received from the people of India have left him in awe. Having heard stories about India’s miracles, Nicolo now feels that one of those miracles has transformed his life.
