Amit Shah Slams Kejriwal, Urges Voters to Reject “Government of Lies”

New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday, accusing him of deceiving the people and failing to fulfill key promises. Speaking at a public meeting in Dwarka, Shah urged voters to carefully choose between what he called “AAP’s government of corruption and lies” and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he described as a leader who delivers on his promises.

“On February 5, you will have to decide who will rule Delhi for the next five years. On one side is AAP, which thrives on lies and corruption, and on the other is PM Modi, who fulfills every commitment he makes,” Shah declared while addressing a rally in support of BJP candidate Pradyuman Singh Rajput.

Shah criticized Kejriwal for making false claims and failing to act on them. Referring to Kejriwal’s earlier statements about prioritizing sanitation over religious structures, he said, “Kejriwal used to question the need for a Ram temple, suggesting that toilets should be built instead. I want to tell him that he has done neither. We have built toilets worth Rs 13 crore and also a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.”

The Union Home Minister also reiterated the BJP’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism, promising to eliminate it by March 31, 2026. “Write down this date—before March 31, 2026, we will make India free from terrorism and bury Naxalism in the ground. Under PM Modi’s leadership, we have worked to make India secure and prosperous,” Shah asserted.

Continuing his attack on the Congress, Shah highlighted the contrast between the previous UPA government and the current BJP-led administration in handling national security. “For 10 years, the Sonia-Manmohan government was in power. Terrorists from Pakistan carried out bomb blasts and left unchallenged. No action was taken. However, when you elected Narendra Modi in 2014, we witnessed attacks in Uri and Pulwama. Within 10 days, we entered Pakistan and eliminated the terrorists through surgical and air strikes,” he said.

The Dwarka assembly constituency is seeing a three-way contest between BJP’s Pradyuman Singh Rajput, AAP’s Vinay Mishra, and Congress’ Adarsh Shastri. The assembly elections will be held in a single phase on February 5, with the counting of votes scheduled for February 8.

With the campaign intensifying, Shah’s remarks signal BJP’s aggressive stance against AAP and Congress, positioning Modi’s leadership as the decisive factor for Delhi’s future. As the elections approach, the battle for Delhi is heating up, with all parties vying to win the trust of the electorate.
