Power Management Company and NTPC sign contract to purchase electricity in the presence of CM Dr. Yadav
In the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, MP Power Management Company signed a contract with NTPC to purchase electricity for supply the long-term energy demand of the state. During this, Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar and Additional Chief Secretary Energy Shri Neeraj Mandloi were also present. The contract was signed between MD of Power Management Company Shri Avinash Lavania and General Manager of NTPC Shri Shankar Saran.
Regional Executive Director of NTPC’s West Region Shri PK Mishra said that NTPC is setting up two units of 800 megawatt each under Stage-2 at Gadarwada in Narsinghpur. Out of this, 800 megawatt electricity will be given to Madhya Pradesh on the basis of rates fixed by the Central Regulatory Commission. The target is to start production in these by 2030-31. NTPC has currently installed two units of 800 megawatt each in Stage-1 at Gadarwada. Madhya Pradesh is getting 800 megawatt of electricity out of these also.
Energy Minister Shri Tomar said that NTPC’s contribution in the development of Madhya Pradesh is welcome. He also discussed with NTPC officials about working in the field of renewable energy. Additional Chief Secretary Shri Mandloi spoke about attending the upcoming Global Investors Summit to be held in Bhopal and signing contracts for various works in the field of energy. NTPC officials gave information about the work being done in the field of nuclear energy, pump storage, renewable energy and power trading.
