Acharya Sangam of Shri Shambhu Panchagni Akhada emphasizes the significance of Ram Katha
Mahakumbh Nagar : The phrase ‘Ram se bada Ram ka naam’ (The name of Ram is greater than Ram himself) is often heard, but its true meaning remains a question for many. At Mahakumbh 2025, saints are enlightening devotees about this profound spiritual concept.
Acharya Sangam of Shri Shambhu Panchagni Akhada explained that the name Ram is not just limited to Lord Ram’s incarnation but is the very essence of the cosmic vibration. He emphasized that to truly understand the greatness of Ram’s name, one must delve into the Ramcharitmanas, the sacred text composed by Goswami Tulsidas, which encapsulates the spiritual significance and divine power of the holy name.
According to Acharya Sangam, Ramcharitmanas is not merely a scripture but a divine gift bestowed upon humanity for its welfare. In today’s modern world, youth should embrace its teachings to lead an ideal life. This is precisely why Goswami Tulsidas composed it in Awadhi instead of Sanskrit, ensuring that its wisdom reaches the common people.
The deep reverence of Lord Shiva for the name of Ram is well known. Acharya Sangam shared that it was Shiva himself who revealed the glory of Ram’s name to Goddess Parvati. He narrated an incident from history: when Tulsidas began writing Ramcharitmanas at Assi Ghat in Kashi, Lord Vishwanath appeared in his dream and instructed him to compose it in a simpler, native language instead of the divine Sanskrit, making it accessible to all.
To validate the spiritual supremacy of Ramcharitmanas, an extraordinary event took place in Kashi. Acharya Sangam, citing Maharashtra’s Sant Akhandanand Ji, revealed that when the scripture was placed beneath the Vedas and other sacred texts, it miraculously rose above them on its own. This divine occurrence signified its universality and its essence as a compilation of the fundamental truths found in all scriptures.
“Ramcharitmanas is not just a spiritual text; it serves as a guide for young individuals to lead a righteous life, cultivate good character, and follow the divine path,” he said.
According to Acharya Sangam, this sacred scripture provides wisdom on navigating human relationships, overcoming challenges, and maintaining ideal conduct in any situation.
He highlighted that regardless of the phase of life one is in, following the teachings of Ramcharitmanas ensures the path of righteousness and divine inspiration. It not only helps individuals understand God but also purifies the soul and aligns life with higher ideals.
Acharya Sangam further stated that if today’s youth embrace Ramcharitmanas as a way of life, it will contribute not just to their personal growth but also to the progress of society, the nation, and family harmony.
