Utilize Your Degree for the Welfare of Society – Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna
Nagpur – Hard work and self-discipline are essential to achieving success in any field of life. Students must use their academic knowledge for the benefit of society, urged Chief Justice of India, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, at an event today.
The third convocation ceremony of Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) was held at Waranga, Wardha Road. Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna attended as the chief guest, while Supreme Court Justice and University Chancellor Bhushan Gavai presided over the event. Other distinguished guests included Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Alok Aradhe, Justices Atul Chandurkar, Nitin Sambre, Anil Kilor, former Supreme Court Justice Vikas Sirpurkar, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vijender Kumar, Maharashtra’s Advocate General Birendra Saraf, and University Registrar Vivek Gawhane. Students, faculty members, and their families were also present.
Justice Sanjiv Khanna emphasized the importance of deep legal knowledge and understanding of law in a legal career. He stated that students must go beyond textbooks to grasp the history, purpose, practical application, and enforcement of laws. Legal professionals impact people’s quality of life and their freedoms, making law a highly significant field. He encouraged graduates to uphold discipline, work hard, and apply their knowledge for the greater good.
Supreme Court Justice Bhushan Gavai, Chancellor of MNLU, highlighted that the field of law now offers diverse career opportunities, and students have access to numerous avenues for knowledge enhancement.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vijender Kumar presented a report on the university’s academic achievements and initiatives. The convocation was attended by legal dignitaries, faculty members, and students.
Aditi Bais Wins Seven Gold Medals
A total of 155 degrees were conferred during the ceremony, including 112 undergraduate, 28 postgraduate, and 15 Ph.D. degrees. Aditi Bais secured the highest number of awards, winning seven gold medals. The university’s gold medals for outstanding academic performance were presented by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna to Vishwajit Rao and Akanksha Bohra.
