Chief Minister Inaugurates New Ultrasound Machine At Serchhip Hospital Under CSR

Serchhip – Today, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma inaugurated a newly installed Samsung V6 Ultrasound Machine at Serchhip District Hospital. The machine, donated by the Eco Savior Foundation, will enhance medical diagnostics and patient care. Following the inauguration, a thanksgiving gathering was held at Kawnpui VC Hall.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude, emphasizing that the installation of this state-of-the-art ultrasound machine—without any government expenditure—reflects advancements in global medical technology and its accessibility in Mizoram. He extended special thanks to Eco Savior Foundation, Kolkata, for their generous contribution.

He highlighted the importance of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), stating that Serchhip residents are well aware of its benefits. The construction of the new hospital building itself is a CSR initiative. As per the Companies Act, CSR funds enable significant development projects without government expenditure. To efficiently utilize CSR funds, organizations such as Societies and NGOs must be registered under Income Tax 12A & 80G to attract corporate support.

Recognizing CSR’s significance, the state government has established a CSR Cell within the Chief Minister’s Office. In collaboration with UNDP, Mizoram has participated in CSR conclaves in Bangalore, engaging with major corporate donors. Additionally, awareness programs on CSR have been conducted in Mizoram to encourage local participation.

Technological Advancements at Serchhip Hospital

The Serchhip District Hospital is continuously upgrading its facilities. The Electrocardiogram (ECG) services now incorporate 5G connectivity, allowing doctors to conduct real-time remote consultations. In October last year, a 3D Dental Laboratory was inaugurated, further strengthening diagnostic capabilities. Due to ongoing hospital construction, the Serchhip Government College Campus is currently housing some medical facilities.

The hospital is adapting to Industry 4.0, incorporating advanced 5G technology. In addition to the 3D Lab, the government has launched a Mobile ECG device and a Drip Monitoring System. A new Dialysis Unit is also planned as part of the hospital’s expansion.

Future Developments

The government is committed to resolving challenges related to hospital infrastructure. Additionally, a Nursing School is under construction to address staffing needs. Plans are also in place to build government quarters in Serchhip and a new Circuit House worth ₹6 crore.

The thanksgiving event was chaired by Dr. LP Malsawma, Senior CMO, while Pi K. Lalrinkimi, Nursing Officer, conducted the session. Pu C. Lalrinfela, State Head of Eco Savior Foundation, presented a report, stating that the Samsung V6 Ultrasound Machine, valued at approximately ₹49 lakh, offers high-resolution imaging and advanced diagnostic capabilities.

The event was attended by health officials, Serchhip District Health & Family Welfare staff, and local community leaders.
