Simplifying Administrative Processes for Citizens is Our Top Priority: CM Vishnu Deo Sai
MoU Signed with CEGIS and TRI to Strengthen Good Governance
In a historic move to enhance transparency, accountability, and effective administration, the Chhattisgarh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS) and Transforming Rural India (TRI) in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. This collaboration aims to improve administrative efficiency, strengthen policy implementation, and ensure effective monitoring of government schemes.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that optimal and effective resource utilization is a top priority. To achieve this, the government has established the ‘Good Governance and Convergence Department’, making it the 58th department in the state. This department will simplify administrative processes and enhance the implementation of government schemes. He stated that the MoU would bring revolutionary changes in administrative transparency, financial discipline, and policy-making.
Boost to E-Governance and Digital Transformation
CM Sai highlighted that this initiative will strengthen e-governance, digital transformation, grievance redressal mechanisms, and real-time monitoring of government programs. Additionally, it will support capacity building for government employees and youth, ensuring more efficient and accessible governance. He also reaffirmed that the initiative will curb corruption, ensuring that citizens receive the benefits of government schemes without any obstacles.
CEGIS and TRI to Drive Policy and Rural Development
CEGIS founder Karthik Muralidharan stated that their organization will provide technical, analytical, and strategic support to the Chhattisgarh government for effective policy execution. He emphasized that data-driven policymaking and global expertise will greatly benefit the state, particularly in strategic budgeting and financial management.
Under the agreement with TRI, rural development initiatives will receive a new direction, focusing on education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and water conservation. TRI Associate Director Sreesh Kalyani mentioned that TRI will work closely with the government to empower local governance, enhance community participation, and accelerate rural development. The collaboration will drive improvements in education, healthcare, agriculture-based livelihoods, and climate adaptation strategies.
CM Sai congratulated the Good Governance and Convergence Department, CEGIS, and TRI representatives on this crucial agreement. He expressed confidence that this partnership would pave the way for administrative reforms and ensure faster and more effective delivery of government benefits to the people of Chhattisgarh.
On this occasion, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary remarked that the MoU will play a vital role in realizing the vision of good governance in Chhattisgarh.
