Eastern Railway honours excellence in performance with prestigious awards and recognitions.

On the august occasion of the 69^th. Railway Week Celebrations (Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar, 2022-23 & 2023-24 by the Eastern Railway at B. C. Roy Institute, Sealdah today i.e., 21st February, 2025, Mr. Milind Deouskar, General Manager of Eastern Railway, handed over coveted GM’s Overall Efficiency Shield to Asansol Division for outstanding performance, while Malda Division of Eastern Railway bagged the Overall Efficiency Runners Up Shield. Furthermore, a total of 37 Shields and Cups were presented by Mr. Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway & Mr. Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager to different Divisions / Workshops / Departments for excellence in performance.

Moreover, 154 Staff’s and Officers of Eastern Railway were chosen for “Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar”, for their dedicated and outstanding performance during the year 2022 -2023 & 2023 -2024.

Employees from Commercial, Electrical, Engineering, General Administration, Mechanical, Operating, Personnel, Security, Signal & Telecom, Accounts, Construction, Medical, Safety and Stores Departments of Eastern Railways were awarded for excellence in performance.

The beginning of this prestigious award ceremony was marked by the lighting of ceremonial lamp by Mr. Milind Deouskar, General Manager / Eastern Railway in presence of Mr. Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager and Smt. Seema Deouskar, President of Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (ERWWO). The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager commemorating the significance of Railway Week Award function.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Milind Deouskar, General Manager / Eastern Railway said that the staff and officers of Eastern Railway have rendered yeomen service in all fields to accomplish maximum possible achievement. He has also reiterated the all-round excellence in performance of Eastern Railway stating that, safety is top priority of Eastern Railway and all precautions are being implemented to eliminate accidents over Eastern Railway. He also mentioned that Eastern Railway has become the top performing zone in respect of RailMadad portal based on passenger feedback. Mr. Deouskar expected that Railway men being marked as hardworking can accomplish every task and truly contribute in overall socio-economic development to uphold the Nation with a brighter place in the world map. Principal Heads of Departments, Divisional Railway Managers, Chief Workshop Managers and other dignitaries also graced the occasion.
