Chief Secretary Reviews Primary Cooperative Land Development Banks, Directs Four-Month Action Plan for Recovery of Non-Agricultural Loans

Jaipur : The Principal Secretary of the Cooperation Department and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Smt. Manju Rajpal, has instructed Primary Cooperative Land Development Banks to make concerted efforts to ensure the recovery of outstanding non-agricultural loans and loans disbursed under the state government’s interest subsidy schemes. She emphasized that regular reviews will be conducted on the progress of loan recoveries, and strict action will be taken against officials showing negligence.

On Tuesday, Smt. Rajpal addressed a review meeting of Primary Cooperative Land Development Banks via video conferencing at Nehru Sahakar Bhavan. Expressing dissatisfaction over the sluggish progress in the recovery of non-agricultural loans, she firmly instructed officials to improve their working methods and act promptly. She also directed them to take necessary steps to recover these loans and issue notices in pending cases without delay.

Smt. Rajpal further instructed officials to formulate a four-month action plan with monthly targets to accelerate loan recoveries. She emphasized the importance of personal outreach to defaulters and guarantors to facilitate recoveries. Highlighting that most non-agricultural loans were disbursed for entrepreneurial activities, she urged that there should be no bias in the recovery process. Special efforts should be made to recover loans with higher outstanding amounts.

Stressing the need for revitalizing the Land Development Banks, she stated that boosting loan recovery efforts is essential to improve their financial condition and ensure their efficient operation. She also instructed officials to make dedicated efforts for the collection of smaller loan amounts.

Additionally, Smt. Rajpal directed the Secretary of Primary Cooperative Land Development Banks to distribute loans to farmers and entrepreneurs under the state government’s interest subsidy schemes to ensure beneficiaries receive the intended financial relief.

The meeting was attended by Jitendra Prasad, Managing Director of the State Land Development Bank, along with senior officials. All Additional Registrars (Divisions) and Secretaries of Primary Cooperative Land Development Banks participated via video conferencing.
