Medals Galore at Special Olympics World Winter.
Medals galore as India has made a positive start to its campaign at the 12th Special Olympics World Winter 2025 at Turin in Italy, bagging four medals including two gold and two silver on the first day.

It is Samir Yadav and Bharti who have grabbed a gold medal each in the Snowboarding (Novice Gaint Slalom) final at Bardonecchia, while Hem Chand and Harshita Thakur took home a silver each in their respective divisions at the same event. A 49 member contingent, comprising 30 athletes and 19 support staff, is representing India at the tournament.
Again, on the second day – Indian contingent has managed to win two gold, two silver, and one bronze medal of the Special Olympics World Winter Games, raising its total tally to nine.
In snowboarding, it was Bharti (F25) again who has won gold in the Novice Slalom Final, her second of the tournament, while Harshita Thakur (F26) claimed bronze. Indian participants also excelled in Alpine Skiing, with Nirmala Devi (F06) winning gold, Radha Devi (F01) taking silver in the Intermediate Giant Slalom Final, and Abhishek Kumar (M02) earning silver in the Novice Giant Slalom Final. The Indian contingent is competing in six of the tournament’s eight disciplines, including snowboarding, Alpine skiing, and speed skating.
