TCS and Air New Zealand Partner for AI-Driven Digital Transformation
Mumbai : Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Air New Zealand have announced a five-year partnership aimed at enhancing the airline’s digital infrastructure, leveraging AI-driven innovations to improve efficiency. This collaboration will strengthen Air New Zealand’s digital capabilities, enhance passenger experience, and optimize technical operations, including fleet management, crew scheduling, and ground services.
The official announcement was made at TCS headquarters in Mumbai in the presence of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran, and TCS CEO K. Krithivasan.
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon praised Tata Group’s contribution to India’s economic growth and industrial expansion. He emphasized New Zealand’s keen interest in international investments and its commitment to strengthening economic ties with India.
Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran highlighted India’s rapid economic growth and the increasing demand for infrastructure, including roads, rural facilities, warehouses, ports, logistics centers, airports, hospitals, and schools. He expressed optimism that trade between India and New Zealand would expand significantly, with India playing an active role.
Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran stated that leveraging TCS’s cutting-edge technology expertise would help the airline enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and strengthen cybersecurity and data protection. He emphasized that this partnership would accelerate Air New Zealand’s digital transformation journey.
TCS CEO K. Krithivasan expressed excitement about collaborating with Air New Zealand, stating that the partnership would set new benchmarks in airline operations through innovative technology solutions. He described the agreement as a crucial step in global digital transformation for the aviation industry.
The partnership aims to establish Air New Zealand as a digitally advanced airline by integrating AI, automation, and cloud technology to optimize operations. The initiative will enhance passenger services, making them faster, safer, and more seamless. TCS’s customized digital solutions will drive significant improvements in cargo services, disruption management, retail offerings, maintenance systems, and crew operations.

Air New Zealand serves over 15 million passengers annually, operating more than 3,400 flights per week. This new agreement will also enhance its digital retail and loyalty programs.
