Ukraine Consulate to Strengthen Bilateral Partnership – Protocol Minister Jaykumar Rawal

Mumbai : The strong bilateral trade between India and Ukraine has already established a solid foundation, and the inauguration of the new Ukraine Consulate will further enhance trade relations and partnerships between the two nations, said Protocol Minister Jaykumar Rawal during the opening ceremony of the Ukraine Consulate.

Speaking at the inauguration held at the World Trade Center, Minister Rawal was joined by Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, Ukraine’s Ambassador to India Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk, along with trade representatives, including Vijay Kalantri, President of Mumbai World Trade Center, MVIRDC, and the All India Association of Industries.

Minister Rawal highlighted that India is on the cusp of extraordinary economic progress due to its robust economic trajectory. As a young, dynamic, and energetic democracy, India is driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation across various sectors. Mumbai plays a crucial role in India’s economic growth, making it a preferred location for many nations to establish their diplomatic presence. The opening of Ukraine’s Consulate in Mumbai will not only strengthen economic ties but also foster cultural exchange and people-to-people connections between both nations, he added.

Despite being a war-affected country, Ukraine is actively seeking to strengthen international partnerships and explore new avenues for development. Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who stated, “India is not neutral; India stands for peace,” Minister Rawal expressed heartfelt prayers for peace across the region and the world, believing that stability would further enhance bilateral ties and create prosperity for future generations.

Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha emphasized the significance of opening a consulate in a vital city like Mumbai, stating that this move is not just a diplomatic decision but a testament to India’s importance to Ukraine. He acknowledged India’s remarkable global standing and expressed confidence that this partnership would lead to significant advancements. Strengthening diplomatic presence is a crucial step in deepening bilateral relations, and historically, Ukraine and India have shared close ties. Ukraine is eager to further develop these relations, recognizing India’s vital role in the peace process. The newly inaugurated consulate will play a key role in accelerating peace efforts and fortifying diplomatic and economic collaborations, Sybiha concluded.
