Surajpur: Manbas Paves Her Path to Economic Prosperity with Determination
Manbas Creates Her Own Road to Economic Growth Through Sheer Willpower
Earning Between ₹25,000 to ₹35,000 Through a Self-Help Group
Surajpur | A determined individual constantly strives for self-improvement and economic growth by embracing new opportunities. A shining example of this can be seen in Surajpur district, where a woman transformed her circumstances through unwavering determination and a positive mindset, earning her a unique place in society.
This is the inspiring story of Manbas Kushwaha, a resident of Sarhari village in Pratappur Janpad Panchayat, Surajpur district. In pursuit of financial stability and self-reliance, she took a significant step on July 14, 2019, by joining the Maa Gauri Mahila Self-Help Group. Starting with nothing, she gradually carved her path to success with the support of the group. Weekly savings, revolving funds, and community investment funds facilitated her involvement in agriculture-based activities, propelling her economic progress.
Manbas’ journey is a testament to the power of a positive mindset and perseverance. Her determination to shape a better future motivated her to apply for a Prime Minister Mudra Loan, securing a financial aid of ₹1,42,000. She utilized this amount to launch a business producing maize-based snacks like pola, rings, and puffs, along with opening a clothing store. This endeavor was significantly supported by BPM Alka Kujur and PRP Lalita Minj.
When a person believes in themselves, life begins to unfold in extraordinary ways. Today, Manbas Kushwaha supplies food products to over 100 villages in Wadrafnagar and Pratappur blocks as a wholesale distributor for grocery stores. Through this venture, she earns between ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 per month, alongside an additional ₹5,000 to ₹8,000 monthly income from her clothing business.
Her family’s financial stability now allows them to fulfill their aspirations without constraints. However, her success extends beyond personal gains—it serves as a beacon of inspiration, igniting a shift in how women perceive self-employment and financial independence.
By becoming part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan Yojana), she not only strengthened her financial footing but also emerged as a role model for other women. Today, Manbas considers her self-help group an integral part of her family. Reflecting on her journey, she states, “The road from hardship to prosperity wasn’t easy. Every dream comes with challenges, but the support of the group and the Bihan scheme gave me the strength to overcome them.”
Her story stands as a testament for all women who dare to dream and work towards them. Those who make an effort can create their own miracles, and Manbas Kushwaha is living proof of this truth.
