“CM Sai Leads Mass Yoga Event on International Yoga Day in Raipur”

Raipur: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai participated in a mass yoga program organized at the Science College ground in the capital Raipur on the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day. He performed yoga with thousands of people and advised everyone to practice yoga regularly for a healthy lifestyle. On International Yoga Day, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai expressed his happiness, stating that the objectives for which Yoga Day is celebrated worldwide are being achieved. He noted the global promotion and spread of yoga and the wonderful awareness about it in India as well. The enthusiasm seen in Raipur today is also present in all districts, blocks, and villages of the region. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested to the United Nations that June 21 be recognized as International Yoga Day, leading to its worldwide celebration today.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that “Yoga means unity.” The ancient tradition of yoga connects us all to a healthy lifestyle, uniting our mind and body. Yoga also connects us with spirituality and higher life values. He mentioned that people spontaneously gathered at the Science College grounds to participate in group yoga. Shri Sai emphasized that society is created by individuals and that yoga is essential not only for a healthy life but also for creating a healthy society. The entire world now understands and embraces the importance of yoga. Our government will continuously work to connect more people with yoga in the region through the Yoga Commission.

Speaking to the students present, Chief Minister Shri Sai encouraged them to include yoga in their daily routines, highlighting its benefits for concentration, memory, stress relief, and overall well-being. He explained that a positive attitude fostered by yoga can improve performance, enhance one’s image, and advance one’s career.

Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade remarked on the occasion of International Yoga Day, calling it a day of glory, self-respect, joy, and happiness. She credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts for making this celebration possible, promoting the philosophy of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramaya” (May all be happy, may all be free from illness). Yoga, she said, is an important part of life, providing a vision for well-being and paving the way for a healthy family, society, country, and world. She urged everyone to make yoga a fundamental part of their lives, as it connects the body, mind, and soul.

MLA Shri Rajesh Moonat, Shri Anuj Sharma, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri P. Dayanand, Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Mrs. Shammi Abidi, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, SSP Shri Santosh Singh, Yoga Commission Secretary Shri Pankaj Verma, along with a large number of public representatives, common citizens, and students, participated in the event.
