School Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana Meets with NCERT Officials

Aizawl : School Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana, currently on an official visit to New Delhi, met with officials from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) at the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) today. The meeting focused on key developments in the education sector.

Dr. Vanlalthlana, who also holds the portfolio of Information & Communication Technology Minister, stated that one of the new government’s top priorities is transforming the education system through technology. He highlighted that digital tools are essential for modernizing education and mentioned the ongoing integration of Mizoram’s Kai app with the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) to enhance teaching and learning experiences. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of these advancements reach every student and teacher in Mizoram.

During the meeting, NCERT officials provided insights into alternative learning systems, the development of digital educational content through the DIKSHA portal, and the effective use of educational technology for both students and teachers. Discussions also covered the implementation of Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) at the national level and its applications in Mizoram.

VSK is a crucial initiative that leverages technology and data analytics to monitor school performance, assess teachers’ effectiveness, and improve policy-making in the education sector. By utilizing real-time data, VSK aids in formulating effective government strategies for educational reforms at both the state and national levels.

Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana arrived in New Delhi on April 1, 2025, for official engagements and meetings with key government officials. He was accompanied by his Private Secretary, Dr. Albert Vanlalruata.
