District Collector Directs Officials; First-Ever Emergency Evacuation Plan Prepared for Spectators
Jaipur – District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has directed officials to ensure adherence to all prescribed standards for the smooth conduct of the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in Jaipur, with a particular focus on spectator safety and event management. A review meeting regarding the IPL arrangements was held on Wednesday at the Collectorate, chaired by the District Collector.
Dr. Soni instructed officials to arrange free drinking water for spectators. He also directed the District Supply Officer and Food Safety Officers to inspect the quality of food and beverages served during the matches and ensure cleanliness in temporary kitchens at the venue.
During the meeting, the District Collector emphasized coordination among all departments to formulate and implement an effective security and emergency response plan. He directed officials to:
- Deploy ambulances with trained medical teams at the stadium
- Set up medical kiosks at different locations
- Appoint civil defense volunteers
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply
- Conduct thorough security checks for spectators
- Provide adequate fire safety equipment and firefighting vehicles
- Increase awareness among spectators about event guidelines
First-Ever Emergency Evacuation Plan Introduced
Security expert Phoolchand Chaudhary informed that, for the first time, a comprehensive emergency evacuation plan for spectators has been prepared as per the District Collector’s directive. Additionally, a block-wise exit strategy and designated safe zones have been identified.
For enhanced security at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 24,000, a network of 291 CCTV cameras and a centralized control room have been set up.
Strict Crowd Management and Parking Arrangements
To maintain order during IPL matches, 477 security guards will be stationed at key locations for crowd control and emergency response. Separate parking arrangements have been made at Amrudon Ka Bagh, SMS Investment Center, and Ram Bagh Circle, along with a dedicated parking area for VIP guests at Subodh Parking.
Dr. Soni also instructed officials to set up a dedicated control room for the event and ensure proper traffic management and other necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the IPL matches.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Collectors Mukesh Kumar Moond and Santosh Meena, along with representatives from BCCI, Rajasthan Royals, Police Department, Municipal Corporation, Medical & Health Department, Electricity Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Public Works Department, and Civil Defense.
