Santhaldih Thermal Power Plant of Bengal ranks first in performance in India.
The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) run Santhaldih Thermal Power Plant (TPP) topped the rank (with PLF 94.38%) as the best performing Plant for 2024-25 in the country, according to a latest assessment conducted by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) under the Union Ministry of Power.
Honourable Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee on Friday said the CEA announced the annual ranking of all the 201 thermal power plants in the country, based on operational efficiency (PLF – Plant Load Factor) parameters in which the Santhaldih Thermal Power Plant of WBPDCL (with PLF 94.38%) ranked the first performing thermal power plant in the country for 2024-25.
“Our Bakreshwar plant (PLF 93.3%) has been ranked 2nd, Sagardighi (PLF 90.86% the 4th, and Bandel (PLF 89.62%) secured the 9th position (Nationally) by GOI. Also, WBPDCL, as a company (with an aggregate PLF of 88.9%), has been ranked the best performing company in the country, surpassing giants like NTPC, DVC, Adani Power, Reliance Power, Tata Power, Torrent Power”, Didi said.
On this occasion the Honourable Chief Minister has congratulated the officers, engineers, and workmen for bringing out their best and making the state of West Bengal proud.
