“Naxalism will become history across India, including Chhattisgarh, before 31st March.”

Raipur : Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah chaired a departmental review meeting on the situation of Left-Wing Extremism in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, the Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Directors General of CRPF, NIA, BSF, and ITBP, along with the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Chhattisgarh, and several other senior officials.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Amit Shah said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is relentlessly working to uproot Naxalism. He asserted that Naxalism will be a thing of the past across the country, including in Chhattisgarh, by 31st March.

The Union Home Minister emphasized that several generations have suffered due to Naxalism, and it is essential to ensure that it never resurfaces. He stated that the ongoing fight against Naxalites must not be scattered or diluted and stressed the need for better coordination between state police and central security agencies to capture Naxalites fleeing from one state to another.

Shri Shah expressed satisfaction with the progress made in both development and security fronts in Chhattisgarh. He instructed the state administration to extend the scope of the ‘Niyad Nellanar’ scheme—which delivers government services in Naxal-affected areas—from a 5-kilometer radius of security camps to a 10-kilometer radius.

He also directed officials to ensure equal opportunities for development for the people in Naxal-affected regions and reiterated that the momentum of anti-Naxal operations must be maintained at all costs.
