Funds from 207 schemes across 11 depts directly reaching beneficiaries’ bank accounts via DBT
Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visionary leadership and relentless efforts have propelled Uttar Pradesh to the forefront of digital transformation in the country. From recording 122.84 crore digital transactions in 2017–18 to crossing 1,024.41 crore by December 2024–25, the state has taken a phenomenal leap quickly, demonstrating its growing strength and digital readiness. Today, Uttar Pradesh ranks number one in digital transactions, with the majority conducted through the UPI.
The Yogi government has turned the vision of a digital revolution into reality, reaching every household across the state. Alongside simplifying digital banking, high-speed internet connectivity has been extended to rural areas.
Extensive awareness campaigns have empowered citizens to embrace digital services. Uttar Pradesh now boasts 20,416 bank branches, 4,00,932 Bank Mitras and BC Sakhis, 18,747 ATMs, and 4,40,095 banking centers—ensuring seamless financial access from urban hubs to remote villages.
Notably, initiatives like Bank Mitras and BC Sakhi have improved rural banking and created employment opportunities for women.
The government’s emphasis on Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) is equally transformative. By passing middlemen, DBT ensures that government scheme benefits reach beneficiaries’ accounts directly with transparency and efficiency.
Currently, 207 schemes across 11 departments—comprising 113 central and 94 state government programs—are implemented through DBT. In the financial year 2024–25 alone, over Rs 1.11 lakh crore has been disbursed to more than 9.08 crore beneficiaries, including the poor, farmers, women, and the underprivileged. This system has improved lives and eliminated corruption, saving the state nearly Rs 10,000 crore.
Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s dynamic leadership, Uttar Pradesh has shed its outdated image and embraced a new identity as a beacon of digital progress. By leveraging the power of technology, the state is accelerating its development and setting a benchmark for the rest of the country.
Being number one in digital transactions and DBT is a matter of immense pride for the people of Uttar Pradesh. With every milestone, the Yogi government is paving the way for a prosperous, transparent, and empowered future.
