“Embrace Education and Stay Away from Addiction” – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

CM Participates in Kanwar-Paikara Community Convention in Khallari, Announces ₹55 Lakh for Development Works

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the annual convention and grand assembly of the Kanwar-Paikara tribal community held in Khallari village, Mahasamund district. Upon arrival, he received a warm traditional welcome from community representatives. The event commenced with the Chief Minister lighting a ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. He began his address by invoking the blessings of Khallari Mai, Bharat Mata, Chhattisgarh Mahtari, Lord Ram-Janaki, and the Kanwar community.

Expressing gratitude to the community, CM Sai offered prayers at the temples of Khallari Mata and Ram-Janaki, seeking the welfare of the state. He paid homage to the martyrs of the Jungle Satyagraha, presenting shawls and coconuts to their families as a mark of respect. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced ₹55 lakh in development works, which includes ₹20 lakh for a shed at the Ram-Janaki temple complex, ₹25 lakh for the construction of a hostel for Kanwar community students, and ₹10 lakh for building well-equipped toilets.

He emphasized that the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, hails from a tribal background, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been consistently working for the welfare of tribal communities. Citing initiatives like the PM Janman Yojana and the Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Yojana, the CM urged the community to prioritize education and take steps towards de-addiction. He called upon the youth to leverage skill development programs and government schemes to become self-reliant.

Highlighting his government’s achievements over the last 15 months, CM Sai stated that 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana were approved soon after taking office, of which 14 lakh have already been completed. He noted that on a single day, three lakh homes saw housewarming ceremonies. Farmers have been provided ₹12,000 crore as price differentials for 21 quintals of paddy purchased per acre.

Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, 70 lakh women have benefited, with those left out to be included soon. He also mentioned schemes for tendu leaf collectors, the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, and the Chief Minister Tirth Yatra Yojana. He reiterated his government’s commitment to fulfilling the guarantees given by PM Modi, highlighting the launch of the Awas Plus Survey app to ensure those without homes are also counted.

“Our goal is to develop Chhattisgarh,” the CM asserted.

The event was attended by MP Smt. Roop Kumari Choudhary, Mahasamund MLA Shri Yogeshwar Raju Sinha, former MP Shri Chunni Lal Sahu, former MLA Shri Preetam Singh Diwan, Chhattisgarh Seeds Corporation Chairman Shri Chandrhas Chandrakar, Shri Yetram Sahu, State President of the Kanwar-Paikara Community Shri Harbansh Miri, numerous public representatives, and a large gathering of community members.
