Structure of Malaria Department Should Reflect Population Ratio – Minister of State Meghna Sakore-Bordikar

Mumbai : Minister of State for Public Health and Family Welfare, Meghna Sakore-Bordikar, has directed that the organizational structure of the state’s malaria department should be aligned with the population size.

She was speaking at a meeting held at Nirmal Bhavan to address various demands of healthcare workers. The meeting was attended by Legislative Council member Sanjay Kenekar, Public Health Commissioner Amgothu Srirang Nayak, and other senior officials from the Mantralaya.

Minister Sakore-Bordikar noted that the incidence of diseases increases significantly in rural areas during the monsoon season, leading not only to health challenges but also to financial distress for families. She emphasized the need to increase the number of healthcare workers to ensure quality services for the public.

She also called for improvements in the biometric attendance system, expansion of training centers, and consideration of promotions or financial incentives for health workers to boost morale. The Minister assured that all the demands raised by healthcare personnel would be positively considered and addressed in a constructive manner.
